There’s nothing quite as special as a newborn baby. They fill a hole in your heart you never knew existed and before you know it, you couldn’t picture your family without them.
At 9 days old, I could see that Baby Hugo was the perfect fit for his family. His big brother Archie loved kissing his tummy, climbing in his cot and proudly referred to him as his baby. His mummy Bek looked like a seasoned pro, juggling her new role as a mum of two so seamlessly it looked like she was destined for this moment. Hugo has well & truly filled their lives with more love than imaginable.
The session mostly took place in Hugo’s nursery and the master bedroom. I feel like I have to mention just how much I loved Bek’s styling of Hugo’s nursery. I personally love neutral tones and how they look on camera, so walking into his nursery was like breathing life into one of my secret Pinterest boards.
Hugo wasn’t particularly sleepy during his shoot. He was more interested in his surroundings and seeing what everyone else was up to. With newborn sessions, I like to really go with the flow and be guided by the baby. So if baby isn’t interested in modelling sleepy newborn photos, then I adapt to capture them honestly, just as they are.
Capturing Hugo’s first few days earthside was an absolute privilege. I just know this little guy is going to grow up surrounded by love.
