Thinking back to this shoot still makes my heart sing. This was easily one of my most treasured shoots of 2020 and I only hope I’ll be able to capture more surprise proposals again in the future.
Two days prior, a last minute Facebook post came up urgently seeking a photographer for a couple’s shoot over the weekend. I had the day off so I messaged and was so excited to hear that it wouldn’t be any ordinary couples shoot, but a surprise proposal. Bailey had planned on proposing to his girlfriend Bianca during the session, which they had booked to celebrate their anniversary.
Before the session, Bailey and I had spoken about how we would ensure the proposal went off without a hitch. I told him to give me a sneaky thumbs up when the moment felt right. I then positioned them so they’d be facing one another to whisper in each other’s ear what they loved most about the other. Bailey then knelt down on one knee and pulled out the ring that had been sneakily hiding in his pocket.
Seeing the joy on Bianca’s face and the love between the two was truly a magical moment. I am so grateful to have been able to capture their love and this very special time in their lives.
