Every now and then I get a bit of an itch to do something outside my comfort zone or create for the sake of creation. These sessions were just that.
I met up with Bruna and Mila very early one Monday morning at Shorncliff Pier with an idea to take some maternity photos that were a little outside my usual vibe. In the lead up to the session, I was feeling a bit creatively tapped out. My imposter syndrome was high and I was finding myself being overly critical of my work to the point where it wasn’t constructive. I needed to do something fun and creative with no expectations and that’s exactly what this session was.
Bruna and Mila both answered a model call for this session and I am so glad they did.
At the time of the session, Mila was just days away from meeting her little one and Bruna had just hit the 32 week mark. Both these women were incredible to capture. I had so much fun and really enjoyed chatting with them about their experiences of pregnancy. The glitter did provide some challenges but it was overall a very fun experience and one I hope to do again soon.
Just next time remind me not to wear jeans and a knit while shooting at the beach. I came away completely drenched! Anything to get the shot, right?
